Audio Recorder Plus

Audio Recorder Plus is an audio recording application which can transform any sound from your PC into MP3, WAV, or WMA formats.
Thanks to the simple interface provided, any user would be able to record whatever audio signal he might want to, without being mandatory to be an expert in the field.

You can use either the mouse clicks or the hot keys to perform different tasks. Although the program is rather poor with reference to the output file formats (only MP3, WAV, or WMA supported), I found the VOX option very interesting. Here you can make the right adjustments so that the recording process could be done, according to some parameters set to reduce silent snippets. You can also stop recording when the audio signal reaches certain decibels. Another feature to ease the recording process is the time which you can set to start automatically from a second and last for how long you want. You don't need to hear what is recorded because there are two independent mixers: one for playback and one for recording.

Audio Recorder Plus does exactly what its name implies. It records good quality audio signals at parameters you define. However, I was disappointed, because it can convert only up to three audio formats. For instance, if I want to make the conversion to AAC, M4A, or OGG, I need another converter to do the job. At the same time, I would have preferred a maximizing button, because the main window is too small and makes your eyes get tired.
